At Remingtons of Niagara, you get the sizzle and a song with your steak.

The fine dining restaurant, on Victoria Avenue in Niagara Falls near Clifton Hill, bills itself as Canada's only restaurant to offer singing servers.

The ambience here is breathtaking.

Remingtons houses a prize-winning collection of reproduction bronze statues by Fredrick Remington, the late 1800s American war correspondent, sculptor and painter who specialized in depicting scenes from the Old West.

The restaurant specializes in prime rib, steaks and seafood dishes - all delivered by servers with a song, strolling through the venue and serenading diners all night long.

The Remingtons website also offers a guide to delicious wine and meal pairings, and even a history of the prime rib.

Remingtons chefs also go out of their way to use local ingredients in their offerings.

That only makes sense in such a rich agricultural area as Niagara, where the earth produces more than just grapes for all the wonderful wines.

Local food is fresher and retains more of its natural taste because it hasn't had to travel to your table. That makes it healthier for you, too.

And locally bought is good for the community. Hundreds of Niagara farmers depend on the marketplace for their livelihood and Remingtons buys into the belief that everything is about community, in the end.

It has a wide-ranging menu offering beef, pork and seafood as well as pasta dishes, soups and salads and appetizers, and a kids' menu.

On the OpenTable.ca website, users rated Remingtons 4.1 out of 5, and 87 percent of visitors said they would recommend it to friends - high praise for the restaurant that's nestled right in the heart of the Niagara Falls tourism district.

It's just across Victoria Avenue from Casino Niagara, too, making it a pleasant respite for an enjoyable meal after a few hours of gaming.

Of course, the area around Victoria Avenue and Centre Street - the intersection at the top of the world-famous 'street of fun,' Clifton Hill - is loaded with great dining spots.

They offer a range in prices and fare, some are geared toward families while others are more adult-oriented with a quieter theme designed for a longer meal.

Yanks. Sparks. The Spicy Olive. Montana's. Antica Italian Ristorante. Plus a lot more.

There is something for every palate, every mood and every wallet.
