Giles Taylor as 'Freddie Mercury'

In 2010 Giles was first introduced to Showtime Australia when he was brought in as an emergency replacement for the role of bass player Timothy B Schmitt in their 'Hotel California - The Eagles Experience' show as it toured Canada.

But it was the worldwide auditions held by Showtime Australia early in 2014 that led to Giles landing the challenging lead role of Freddie Mercury in the show 'Queen: It's a Kinda Magic'.

Whilst the auditions were tough the combination of Giles' natural talent as a pianist and his three-and-a-half octave vocal range saw him beat many other prime candidates to win the role of what is one of the world's most formidable tributes to Queen.

Queen: It's a Kinda Magic continues to dominate Giles' career as the show tours worldwide up to 6 months per year, but he still enjoys the occasional session contract or song-writing project where his busy performance schedule allows.
